COMMITTEE CHAIRS
Angela Chen & Catherine Bingham serve as our Community Outreach Committee Chairs. They are in charge of coordinating all of UNC ASDA’s community service events and projects.
WHAT WE DO
Our team is dedicated to organizing outreach experiences, in which we hope to inspire greater school-wide involvement in community service. We provide our members with a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year with the overarching goal of making a difference in our community.
WHAT are we up to?
The Community Outreach Committee has been hard at work organizing community service events this year. In August 2023, we hosted "Chocolate Chips & Classroom Tips" a back-to-school card-writing event for local elementary and middle schoolers. Cards were filled with advice and words of encouragement for underserved children at a free school supplies community event in Durham. In October 2023, ASDA members dressed up and handed out candy to our UNC Craniofacial patients at their annual Halloween Parade! In January 2024, we hosted a fun trivia night for residents of the SECU house, a nurturing home for loved ones of patients at the hospital to stay while receiving treatment, and brought some laughter and happiness to their night.
